Commercial Reel Bundle

Is it for me?

It is important to note immediately that this is a series of one-to-one training sessions to help you practise and prepare for recording a commercial reel. At the end of the course, you will be ready to record with a top, award-winning West End engineer.

The average voice agent will only listen to the first 30 seconds of a voice reel so your reel needs to be the best that it can be. Speaking from personal experience, working successfully as a voice-over artist can give an actor great longevity - it is worth getting it right!
There is no point wasting hundreds of pounds on a simple consultation, someone picking out a few scripts with you and then going in to record a reel where you are not completely prepared,

If you are thinking about recording a Commercial Voice Over Reel, want to make sure you get it right first time and don't waste hundreds of pounds, this is the course for you.

What do I get?

Spread over three separate 1 - 1 sessions, and three Zoom tutorials, the Commercial Reel bundle is a bespoke course prepping you to record with a West End studio engineer to produce your final reel.* The sessions are designed around your experience and your voice and will help you to increase your vocal range, choose and prepare the material that's right for you, hone your scripts with plenty of time working on the microphone, give you bags of experience for working in the world of commercial voice and develop a strategy for you to effectively market your reel once you have recorded it.

The Commercial Reel Progression bundle offers a massive 20% discount on our usual rates and includes:

    - 2 x 3 hour practice sessions, testing ads and building a solid vocal routine
- 1 x 2.5 hour test record and final polish
   - 3 x 30min zoom
feedback, prep and marketing sessions

-2 hours basic edit of all material to send to West End engineers

*This basic edit of your material would then be sent to a top West End engineer to feedback on (I would share his thoughts with you in our final Zoom chat). I would then put you in contact with him - it will be an additional £375 to cut the final reel.

What do I need to know?

If you're interested in Commercial Reel Progression then the absolute best way to proceed is to get in touch with me by email so that we can arrange a quick Zoom chat to discuss your needs, aims and experience.

Sessions take place at The Voice Zone's studio in Walton-on-Thames and by Skype.

The total cost of the course does not include recording your final reel.

Further Details

In the first session together, we will look at the ads already in your voice portfolio, choose a range of styles and additional scripts for your reel and make sure you know what your money voice is, as well as that all important practice on the microphone. Using professional recording equipment you will listen back to your ads and hear how small physical changes and directions can have massive effects on your voice quality and believability.

Through the following session, we will continue to test and prepare your ad choices, stretching the range of styles of your voice and giving you real confidence in what you are going to record. You’ll continue to work on sight-reading skills and responding to client direction too, so that when your reel is a success, you’ll be completely ready for this exciting industry. There will even be a chance to practise voice-to-picture (timing your voice to the visual ad on a monitor), so that nothing in the professional studio environment can throw you.

Finally, in our last session together, we will test record and polish your chosen ads. I will cut the best takes together in a basic edit before sending to a West End engineer to feedback on.

The three sessions are spread over a number of weeks as they’ll be plenty of homework/preparation to do in between to make sure you are as prepared as possible. Between sessions, you’ll have three 30min zoom tutorials, to analyse the recordings you send me between sessions, to make sure you are staying on track with your work and to explore the best ways to market your finished reel. In the final skype tutorial, we'll also talk through the feedback from the studio engineers and make any final tweaks to your scripts.

I'll then put you in touch with the engineer so you can arrange your recording date. The Voice Zone has secured a top deal of only £375 for your 2 hour recording session, copyright free music and the detailed edit, mix eq and master of your final fast, punchy killer commercial reel.

What do other actors think?

Ayesha Casely-Hayford

Shepherd - Fox

"After the research and detailed practice we’ve been putting in these past weeks, exploring our voices and energies, it feels really re-assuring to have reached this stage. It is sad how often in learning situations, I feel misunderstood, dis-engaged. Thank you for being the exception! Working with you is always a buzz, a positive high. I have left feeling in a good place."

“I learned a lot technically, from how to deliver a speed read, how to balance energy and pace with clarity and diction and how better to use my breath

I also took from it a clear picture of the steps I need to take to build my voice over career.  Overall….It was great fun!. “
